Debra K. Mayfield is a shareholder with the law firm of Ruberto, Israel & Weiner, P.C. She counsels businesses on employment and intellectual property issues and also provides commercial litigation services. Ms. Mayfield is the Chair of the Employment Law Group and a member of the firm’s Technology Group.

Ms. Mayfield has been a frequent lecturer on employment and intellectual property issues for small and mid-size businesses and human resource professionals. Seminar topics have included the following: Software Company HR Nightmares; When an Employee is Absent: How to Navigate the ADA, FMLA, Worker’s Compensation and Other Leave Acts; Employment Issues for the Growing Company. She has also conducted sexual harassment training for various companies including restaurant chains, securities brokerages and manufacturing companies. Her publications include “Common Issues Arising From Employee Absences,” published in the Women’s Business Journal, and “Common Legal Pitfalls for Start Ups and Small Businesses.”

Upon graduation from Northeastern University in 1986, Ms. Mayfield joined the litigation department at Bingham, Dana & Gould in Boston, where she practiced until she joined Ruberto, Israel & Weiner in early 1994.
