Maureen Mulligan will be co-chairing a program sponsored by the
American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section
entitled "Beyond Legal: A Business Approach to Corporate Governance",
which will be held in New York City from May 11-13, 2006.
The theme of the program will be the nature of the relationship among
responsible corporate behavior, corporate profitability and litigation
risk, and will discuss how various approaches to structuring internal
processes (such as compensation decision and internal controls) may
affect this relationship. The program will include an address from The
Honorable Senator George J. Mitchell, Former United States Senate
Majority Leader and Chairman of the Board of the Walt Disney Company,
and will conclude with a penal examining the emerging issues of
