On July 13th and 20th, 2022, Roger L. Smerage led legal workshops as part of the Folly Cove Intensive, a week-long seminar held at Folly Cove Studio in picturesque Lanesville, Gloucester. The seminar is designed for small business owners who are seeking to grow and adapt their products or services. This year’s seminar focused on businesses in the health & wellness sector during the first week and businesses in the food & farming sector during the second week, with four fellows participating each week.
The intimate format of the seminar, including the legal workshops, allowed Roger to engage in focused discussions with the fellows on both business and legal issues of concern to entrepreneurs. Roger covered numerous topics important to new and growing businesses, including corporate formation and organizational documents, real estate and leases, employment, and data privacy, among others.
