RIW is proud to announce that Bradley L. Croft has been selected as a 2022 “Lawyer of the Year” by the editorial department of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. This distinction is presented to a select number of attorneys who helped shape the Massachusetts legal landscape in the prior year.

In one case, Brad and his team brought the first successful enforcement action under the Massachusetts Prompt Payment Act, securing a nearly $7 million judgment in favor of their general contractor client. The decision reshaped the way complex commercial construction participants and lawyers approach payment disputes in the Commonwealth.
In the other case, a “bet the company” shareholder dispute involving a closely-held corporation, Brad successfully argued before the Supreme Judicial Court against application of the doctrine of surcharge. The first-of-its-kind case clarified the extent of a corporate fiduciary’s potential liability for claims brought by the company.
