Christina Fitzgerald recently joined the firm as an associate in the Litigation Department, where she’ll focus on a wide range of litigation matters. Learn more about Christina below!
Why did you become a lawyer?
I have always been deeply interested in the principles of the American justice system. I also grew up in a family where great, lengthy debates were often had around a dinner table. These early memories shaped my desire to pursue a career in law. I went to law school knowing I wanted to be in the courts, arguing on behalf of clients as a zealous advocate. I feel so fortunate to be practicing as an attorney where I can flex those muscles and continue building my career as a litigator.
Tell us about your career path.
Prior to law school, I spent four years working in political media, strategy, and communications. These experiences afforded me the opportunity to sharpen my writing skills and fueled my interest in the art of persuasion. My career since law school has centered on gaining tools that make me a detail-oriented litigator and trusted legal resource for clients.
Tell us about your practice.
I am thrilled to bring my practice as a litigator to RIW. I have a depth of experience with procedurally complex matters that I am eager to expand upon with this team. I look forward to partnering closely with my clients through each stage of litigation—always with an eye toward the outcome that matters most to them.
What do you love most about what you do?
I love puzzles, and litigation is in many ways like one big puzzle. It is incredibly satisfying to begin wading into the facts of a case and slowly piece together the story that will actually resonate with a judge, a jury, or opposing counsel at the table. There is a real thrill in finding the detail that unlocks the rest of the puzzle, the one fact or document that reframes the whole case. When that work translates into a real result for a client, it makes all the sorting and digging worth it.
Why did you choose the firm?
First, the people. It was immediately obvious to me that I would be working alongside and collaborating with wonderful colleagues whose experience and judgment I could learn from every day. This team, paired with RIW’s reputation for excellence in litigation made it the perfect fit.
Tell us a fun or surprising fact about you.
I trained for most of my young life as a dancer with a pre-professional company in Boston. My dance background influences my work ethic and belief in the importance of mind-body connection to this day.
What do you do in your free time?
Family is everything to me. My husband and I spend most of our free time chasing after our toddler daughter, but I love to fit in a yoga class or new book whenever I can.
