Get to Know RIW Attorney, Rose Garson

Rose Garson recently joined the firm as an associate in our Corporate Department, where she serves as business counsel and supports clients during various commercial transactions. Learn more about Rose below:

Why did you become a lawyer?

During college, I spent a summer working in the research department of the hospital in my hometown. One of the projects I was involved with explored informed consent among cardiac surgery patients. I then became fascinated by the intersection between healthcare and the law which led me to pursue a legal career.

Tell us about your career path.

Most recently, I was a Corporate Associate at a boutique firm that specializes in representing early stage companies. Prior to that, I worked in the Boston office of a multinational law firm and as a Compliance Manager at a biopharmaceutical accelerator, where I also externed during law school.

Tell us about your practice.

I represent clients as business counsel and advise on commercial transactions.

What do you love most about what you do?

I love supporting  business owners in executing their vision and growing their organizations. I also enjoy the varied nature of business counsel work, because it affords me the opportunity to continually learn new areas of law and to address unique issues that arise during the lifecycle of a business.

Why did you choose the firm?

I also appreciate that the firm acknowledges that there are many ways to grow a successful practice and encourages its attorneys to pursue opportunities that align with their interests and long-term goals.

Tell us a fun or surprising fact about you.

I was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and am frequently encouraging folks to add Halifax to their travel lists!

What do you do in your free time?

I enjoy spending time outside, frequenting the neighborhood diner, reading, and tuning in to WNBA games.
