Get to Know Attorney Eric Shediac

Eric Shediac recently joined RIW in the Banking, Finance & Lending Department and the Commercial Real Estate Group. His practice represents institutional lenders in a wide range of credit facilities including asset-based loans, equipment leasing, commercial and industrial-based loans, real estate and asset acquisition loans, and construction loans. He also advises his lending clients through the workout process.

Why did you become a lawyer?

I value the constructive aspect of transactional law, and I enjoy working with clients. Their business goals inspire me, and I find great satisfaction in helping my clients materialize their visions.

Tell us about your career path.  

I have been practicing for over twenty-five years as a transactional attorney including six years as a senior legal editor for Thomson Reuters’ Practical Law.

I am a relationship-driven attorney with a broad range of transactional experience and business acumen focused on my clients’ successes.

What do you love most about what you do? 

Helping my clients achieve their goals.

I chose RIW because of its outstanding reputation as a highly regarded law firm in Boston and the collegial atmosphere of the firm.

Tell us a fun or surprising fact about you.  

I served as my high school’s swim team’s lumber jack mascot, and started each meet with a belly-flop into the pool!

What do you do in your free time?  

I like to hike with my Jack Russell Terrier, watch my kids play sports, and spend time with my family.
