Why did you become a lawyer?
I was attracted to the legal profession because it provides a foundation to solving problems. Whether it is working with clients, colleagues, or experts in other fields, being a lawyer opens many doors and provides versatility that enables me to take on new challenges.
Tell us about your career path and your practice.
After graduating from Boston College and Northeastern Law (including some valuable Co-Op experiences), I served as Law Clerk at the Superior Court. I then had the opportunity to work at a few outstanding law firms in the Boston area where I had the benefit of experienced and well-respected mentors. I have had the privilege to represent all types of clients in a wide range of practice areas. My recent focus has been on business litigation matters, environmental disputes, insurance coverage, and construction law. I have handled matters in all phases of the dispute, from pre-litigation strategies through appeals. I also work with clients in an advisory role to avoid litigation or find the best path forward for their goals and ideas.
What do you love most about what you do?
The most satisfying part of the job is turning a client’s problems into opportunities. I enjoy rotating the issues around to find the best solutions and paths forward, whether they are obvious ones or creative approaches. I also enjoy implementing the strategies and working with my team to achieve the favorable results. To quote John “Hannible” Smith, “I love it when a plan comes together.”
Why did you choose the firm?
I was impressed by the team at RIW and its approach to litigation and other legal matters. The firm is made up of smart, creative, practical, and dedicated attorneys and professionals with a shared goal of meeting client needs in an ever-changing environment. I am excited to collaborate with everyone at the firm.
What do you do in your free time?
When I am not at the office, you can probably find me at the hockey rink doing my best to coach. I also enjoy skiing, golfing, or spending time at the beach with my wife and three boys.
